En la foto de febrero se puede ver que la pared exterior hace palanca hacia afuera (flecha verde). Para evitar la desagradable presión que ejerce esta palanca, el caballo carga más la parte interior.
A consecuencia de la sobrecarga, la pared se había deformado perdiendo su rectitud, desviándose en diagonal hacia adentro (flecha amarilla).
En la imagen de julio se puede observar que la pared ya no hace palanca hacia afuera, que el caballo vuelve a apoyar el casco de manera regular y como consecuencia la pared interior ya no se sobrecarga hacia adentro (la flecha amarilla punteada de la imagen).
Además se puede ver en la foto de la suela de febrero que la punta es más larga de lo normal y que la pared exterior se ha ensanchado hacia afuera creciendo irregular y desproporcionadamente (flecha blanca). La suela en la foto de julio muestra como el casco es más simétrico que en febrero.
